LYNIO operates on a transparent, consumption-based cloud billing model. You are billed only for the resources you actively provision and consume, without upfront commitments, hidden management charges, or complex licensing tiers.
All resource consumption is metered in real-time by edge agents and published via transaction-safe event brokers to the central LYNIO Billing Engine.
Understanding Product SKUs & Units
Every cloud resource corresponds to a standardized Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) in the LYNIO product catalog:
1. Compute & Instances
- vCPU Runtime (
SKU-IAAS-CPU-*): Billed per vCPU-hour based on instance shape and active execution time. - Memory Allocation (
SKU-IAAS-RAM-*): Billed per GB of RAM allocated per hour. - Compute Shape Base (
SKU-IAAS-SHP-*): High-performance architecture and hypervisor overhead per hour. - Container Pods (
SKU-PAAS-PODMAN): Serverless PaaS container node allocation per hour.
2. Persistent Block Storage & Backups
- Block Volumes (
SKU-IAAS-VOL-*): Billed per GB-hour provisioned on high-performance or standard block storage pools. - Volume Backups (
SKU-IAAS-BACKUP-GB): Billed per GB-month of deduplicated, encrypted snapshot storage.
3. Object Storage (S3 3-Pillar Model)
Object Storage combines three distinct cost dimensions to reflect physical hardware, network, and I/O utilization:
| SKU Code | Display Name | Unit | Default Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
SKU-IAAS-S3-STD-GB | S3 Storage: Standard (Hot) | GB-hour | €0.000030 / GB / hr (~€0.0219/GB/mo) |
SKU-IAAS-S3-ARC-GB | S3 Archive Storage (Cold Pool) | GB-hour | €0.000007 / GB / hr (~€0.0051/GB/mo) |
SKU-IAAS-S3-REQ-WRITE | S3 Tier 1 Requests (PUT, POST, DELETE, List) | 10,000 requests | €0.050000 per 10,000 requests |
SKU-IAAS-S3-REQ-READ | S3 Tier 2 Requests (GET, HEAD) | 10,000 requests | €0.004000 per 10,000 requests |
SKU-NET-S3-OUT | S3 Outbound Data Egress | GB | €0.080000 per GB (Ingress is free) |
NOTE
Inbound data transfer (data uploaded into Object Storage) is always €0.00 (free) across all regions.
4. Networking & Load Balancers
- Floating Public IPv4 (
SKU-NET-FIP): Hourly reservation fee for public static IP addresses. - VPC Outbound Traffic (
SKU-NET-VPC-OUT): Billed per GB of outbound internet traffic egressing from internal subnets. - Load Balancer Base & Tier (
SKU-PAAS-LB-*): Base hourly gateway fee plus throughput bandwidth tiers (e.g., 10 Mbps, 100 Mbps, 1 Gbps).
Analyzing Current Month Usage in the Console
To monitor costs and consumption in real-time:
- Navigate to Billing in the main sidebar.
- The top stat cards display:
- Month to Date: Total unbilled consumption for the current calendar month.
- Today's Cost: Today's 24-hour cost delta.
- Last Month: Finalized invoice total from the previous billing cycle.
- The Usage Breakdown table lists every active SKU, total quantity consumed, effective customer unit price, and total cost in EUR.
Filtering by Period, Region, and Tags
- Period Filter: Click Today, This Month, Last Month, or pick an exact calendar day from the daily bar chart to isolate usage during a specific timeframe.
- Tag-based Cost Allocation: If you organize your instances, volumes, and buckets with tags (e.g.,
env=production, project=ecommerce, team=data), select tags from the Filter by Tags dropdown. The breakdown table will recalculate sub-costs exclusively for resources carrying those tags. - Resource Expansion: Click the chevron (
>) next to any SKU row to expand the per-resource breakdown. You can see individual bucket names, VM identifiers, hours active, and exact sub-cent cost contributions.
Automated Invoicing & Billing Runs
- Billing Cycle: LYNIO billing cycles run monthly from the 1st day of the month (00:00 UTC) to the final day of the month (23:59 UTC).
- Automatic Invoice Generation: At midnight UTC on the 1st of each month, the billing engine automatically generates a finalized Tenant Invoice (
INV-YYYY-MM-...) summarizing all regional consumption, applicable BTW/VAT taxes, and line-item details. - Invoice History: View and download historical invoices from the Invoices tab on the Billing page. Invoices can be downloaded in PDF or JSON format for enterprise accounting systems.
- Payment Terms: Depending on your organization's billing agreement, invoices are either debited automatically from your payment method on file or settled via 30-day corporate SEPA/bank transfer.
